Windows backup tools built by a developer who lost software licenses the hard way — so you don't have to.
PC Trek was founded in 2018 with a single purpose: to solve a problem that affects millions of Windows users every year. When you format your PC or move to a new computer, critical data — software license keys, browser passwords, WiFi credentials, email logins — can be permanently lost. Recovering these items after the fact is often impossible or expensive.
Our tools were built after experiencing this frustration firsthand: losing paid software licenses after a clean Windows install, spending hours reconstructing browser logins, and resetting WiFi routers just to reconnect. There had to be a better way.
Since 2018, we have continued developing and refining PC Trek tools based on user feedback, new Windows versions, and changes to how browsers and applications store their credentials. Today, our tools are trusted by home users, IT professionals, and system administrators worldwide.
PC Trek is an independent software project created and operated by Aco Sterjov.
I am an individual developer based in North Macedonia, and I have been developing and maintaining PC Trek tools since 2018.
Business Information:
All software products and services offered on this website are developed and provided directly by me as an independent developer.
PC Trek develops three specialized Windows utilities, each focused on a specific type of credential backup:
The all-in-one solution. Extracts browser passwords, WiFi keys, email credentials, FTP logins, and Windows Credential Manager data in one scan.
Scans the registry and BIOS to extract Windows, Office, and software license keys — including from non-booting hard drives.
Exports saved logins from Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and other Chromium-based browsers to a portable backup file.
Every PC Trek tool runs entirely on your computer. No credentials, no scan results, and no usage data are ever sent to our servers or any third party. Your data is yours alone.
Every download is code-signed with a verified publisher certificate. Windows will show PC Trek as a verified publisher — never "Unknown Publisher".
Our tools are designed exclusively for recovering credentials from devices you own or have explicit permission to access. We take responsible use seriously and document this clearly in our terms of use.
We release regular updates to keep pace with changes in Windows, Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and the applications we support. The tools that ship today are significantly more capable than what we launched with in 2018.
PC Trek tools have been reviewed and featured by major international technology publications:
These publications independently tested and reviewed our tools. We are proud of this recognition, and it reflects our commitment to building software that genuinely works.
We also maintain a free educational resource covering how Windows stores credentials, how to extract them manually, and what to do before formatting your PC. Whether you use our tools or not, we want you to have the information you need to protect your data.
